Extra Credit

I know I wasn't planning on tending to this blog until January, but I wanted to inform you that I did some writing yesterday, and I think it came out pretty good. I can't quite tell what's coming next in the story, but I am confident will come to me soon.

Crazy Christmas

We are entering a very busy season and I need to take a break from this. I plan to begin blogging again in January.

YUP.

I wrote some stuff today! Yay me. I also got kicked in the face today. And I can tell you, that is not the funnest expierience.

The Element of Fantasy

 I was just realizing that in my book I am yet to introduce anything fantastical. I know that I enjoy writing fantasy and that it is a lot easier for me to really run with. I'm trying to figure out how to change my idea and just add some magical flavour to my book.

Sorry

I know I've been missing for a while, but it's getting to be a very busy season for me and I needed a few days break. I'm hoping to actually get to my novel tomorrow.

A Study in Scarlet...

Today is the long-awaited day I begin reading Sherlock Holmes.

Writers

Lately I have been reading Justine Larbalestier's blog, and some of her posts about the writing process. It seems to help me when I am stuck in my writing to see how someone else approaches it. I know some writers start by creating outlines, and finalizing plot, and others jump from bit to bit until they can string their bits together. I prefer flying by the seat of my pants a bit more. Almost never do I really know what I'm going to write next. I find it hard to actually write the details and interesting things if I just need to get to the next bit of the plot. And speaking of plot, plot is certainly not my strongest point. The only way so far I've found that doesn't just end up being a story with very little issues that are very easily resolved by my characters is to really talk it out with someone else. Try to add up little ideas that seem cool and make them into an intriguing storyline that a reader might actually want to read about. This is sort of the end of my stream of thoughts. I hope to work more on my novel tomorrow. Goodbye for now.

StarWars VII???

What!? Disney bought Lucusflim? I had more faith in you George. And Star Wars VII? Huh? What? You can't just spring a movie on us like that. Can you even imagine the horror we are feeling now Disney? The fear that you will screw up the plot even worse than George Lucas did. And while the possibility of more Star Wars is thrilling, will it live up to the legacy? People were probably frightened for the pre-trilogy as well, but I grew up on them and have loved my whole life. I simply hope Disney  will do justice to the series. I couldn't bear it if when I had children the Star Wars that they know isn't as exciting and magical as Star Wars is to me.

I didn't get any writing done today, but I did get tons of other stuff done, so I don't feel that bad about it.

A map.

I'm writing my book. And I thought I'd tell you that there is a map that one of the main characters is discovering. That's all for now. I know., most books have maps. but his isn't you run of the mill treasure map, my friend. It we lead to a much more interesting item....

Busy

Hey, so I'm in the middle of a major craft project with a deadline. Yeah, I didn't write today. I'll definitely have no excuses by the time tuesday rolls around. I'm guessing I won't write tomorrow either, I have a booked up day, but I'll keep you posted :p

Novel

I've been working on my novel today. So far I'm really happy with what I've been able to write! I'll post again tomorrow.

I'm still feeling kind of sick, but that isn't a very good excuse. I simply failed to write today.

I think I'm getting sick. I've feeling really gross for the past couple days. I didn't feel like writing today with the way I'm feeling. Maybe tomorrow...

I'm back

Sorry for no post yesterday, I didn't get anything written either. But I am chugging along on my novel today. I've actually probably written the most on it that I have since starting. And now I'm going to go write some more!

Shame on Me

I didn't really write anything today. I guess I did a bit on this website http://oneword.com/  which is kind of a fun way to keep your juices flowing. But I had kind of a long busy day, so that's all the writing I got done. Tomorrow, I'll give you something better!

I didn't get much writing in today. Sorry. However I am down to deciding between Andromeda and calliope for my character's name!

Characters

Today I'm working on character development. It's definitely one of the easiest and funnest parts of  writing for me. I'm good with characters and descriptions, but plot is very hard for me to get going. Anyway, I'm mostly writing my main female character today. She will be headstrong and clever, but a bit too arrogant. In addition to her I'm also working on a older, uncle-like man, and a boy who doesn't seem to be very good at anything. That is as much as you get to know! I'll be back to blog tomorrow!

The Buzz

All around you, everyday, there is a constant buzz. The quiet sounds you would only miss if all things fell silent. The whistling of wind. The air sucked in and out of your own lungs. The cars on a road far away. The ideas, and thoughts, and emotions bumping around in your head. The beating of millions of hearts. There is loud and jumbled the buzz of others, all talking, all thinking, all judging. So many voices that are not your own buzz against your skull. So many pressures and joys thump against you. You hear so much and you hear so little. Everything is buzzing. Buzzing is everything.

Day 1

Hello, and welcome to my attempt at consistently writing. I do promise you I will try my very best to deliver you something that I have written every single day. Sometimes it will only be a poem, or a short story or a lame excuse for you to read. I am in the process of writing a novel, so when I work on that I probably won't put it up, but I will let you know that I actually did write something.
